Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that the south coast club will not part with Sadio Mane in January, even if major suitors Manchester United offer £100 million for him.
The Senegalese forward has been a star at St Mary’s Stadium over the last season and a half, and was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the summer.
With the Red Devils struggling for drive and purpose in wide areas this term, Louis van Gaal’s men are being tipped to return for the African star when the transfer window reopens in January.
Despite the Saints holding a position of power, it is widely expected that a considerable offer would force Mane’s transfer to United.
However, Koeman has remained defiant in the face of repeated transfer rumours and stated that none of his star names would be leaving the club in the new year.
“No, no, not in January,” the Dutch boss is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
“Already we spoke about that situation and we sell nobody in January. Nobody, even when they pay £100million.”
A host of other Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in Mane, with Bayern Munich also linked with him recently.
