Major West Ham target holding out for Serie A giants as transfer saga rumbles on

West Ham’s pursuit of Carlos Bacca has taken yet another twist, with reports from CalcioMercatoWeb claiming that the player is keen on a switch to AC Milan’s Serie A rivals Napoli.

The Colombian has emerged as the Hammers’ major attacking target after a summer of disappointment in terms of chasing centre-forwards that has seen a number of big names evade their grasp.

It’s understood that West Ham have an offer on the table for the 29-year-old, but the player himself is stalling as he assesses his options, with playing in the Champions League next season his “dream”.

And reports claim that one side he’s keen on is Napoli, but the Naples club have not submitted a bid for him, and appear unlikely to change the situation.

The Stadio San Paolo outfit can match Bacca’s Champions League ambitions after finishing as runners-up to Juventus last term, but their desire to move for him may hinge on the future of Gonzalo Higuain, who has been linked with Arsenal and Juventus of late.
