Manchester City star Eliaquim Mangala has returned to full fitness ahead of the team’s Champions League clash against Dynamo Kiev, Skysports reports.
The 25-year-old picked up a hamstring injury and has yet to play since January 6th, but is now in contention to feature tonight.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini decided to take a risk in the FA Cup fifth round by resting nine first team players, a move which saw them knocked out of the competition after losing 5-1 to a full Chelsea squad.
He is now expected to field his best selection against Kiev, with Pellegrini admitting that he will choose a similar squad to their previous Premier League match, with the return of Mangala a possible addition.
“We have similar squad that we played in the last Premier League game – the only player that has recovered is Mangala,” he said.
“We had to make a difficult decision against Chelsea but it was the only choice we could make in this moment because we had just 13 players.”
City have a rather busy schedule coming up these next few days as they will face Liverpool in the League Cup final on Sunday before travelling to Anfield to play them again in the league next Wednesday.
The France international has featured in 14 league matches and another three Champions League fixtures so far this term.
