Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has come out to praise star man Sergio Aguero after his latest 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, Mirror reports.
The 27-year-old was once again on top form after netting two goals in their recent victory, despite only coming back from an injury spell on the sidelines.
Pellegrini, who has been without the services of the Argentina international for two-and-a-half months due to two separate injuries, admitted that they need him in order to push for the title.
“It’s impossible to replace Sergio,” he said.
“He’s a top player and it’s very difficult to replace him. I think for every team to replace their top players is very difficult.
“We can play without Sergio, but of course we’ll be a stronger team with him playing at his best performance level. But I hope he will finish the season without any more injuries.”
City are still in line to pick up a quadruple trophy haul, with the Premier League title, FA Cup, Capital One Cup, and Champions League all still up for grabs.
However, another factor that could define their season is the absence of injured centre-back star Vincent Kompany, a player who has already missed a majority of the campaign with a reoccurring calf problem.
Aguero has started 14 league games this season while coming off the bench on one occasion, managing to score 10 goals while providing two assists.
