Man City boss cautious ahead of vital week

Manchester City haven't done much better

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is worried about his side’s away form so far this season ahead of two trips in the space of five days this week, as reported by the Daily Mail.

One point from three games on the road so far this season in the Premier League is only bettered by Crystal Palace and the Blues travel to Upton Park to take on a tough-to-beat West Ham side this evening.

Pellegrini then takes his side to Moscow for a vital Champions League group stage game with CSKA, a must win after their home defeat to Bayern Munich last time out.

The new City boss believes that his team have been unlucky on the road so far this season and that two wins this week will answer a few of the doubters.

‘Of course we are worried about that. I think we deserve more points playing away the way we are playing but the reality says we have one point from nine so we need to win,” Pellegrini said.

‘Now we play four games in a row away so it is the best moment first to win away against West Ham then to repeat the triumph we had against Plzen in the Champions League. It is very important for us to get three points more.

‘For me there is no priority. It is very important for the team to qualify for the round of 16 in the CL but also the Premier League is important.’
