Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini claims that his side are back to their best and are now ready to fight league leaders Chelsea for the Premier League title, talkSPORT reports.
The Argentine boss has sounded out a warning to the Blues after the Citizen’s impressive 4-1 win against Sunderland on Wednesday, with Sergio Aguero scoring a brace while Stevan Jovetic and Pablo Zabaleta got one each.
City currently trail Chelsea at the summit by six points, but are now on a good run of form in contrast to their nervy start at the beginning of the season.
Pellegrini, who was under a lot of pressure only a few weeks ago, is once again confident that his squad have what it takes to win the Premier League for a second consecutive season.
“I think we are returning to the performances we had last season,” the Chilean said.
“If we continue playing this way of course we will fight for the title, but I think three or four other teams will also be there.”
City’s next fixture will be at home against Everton, who only managed a 1-1 draw with Hull City in midweek.
