Manchester City are considering a move for Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer, which would see the goalkeeper reunite with his current boss Pep Guardiola, according to reports from the Mirror.
Neuer, considered to be the world’s best goalkeeper, is one of City’s dream summer targets following the announcement of Guardiola as the manager for next season.
The Spaniard is already starting to plan a huge overhaul of the squad when he arrives, and after several terms at the Allianz Arena, has become a fan of the ‘sweeper-keeper’.
This will come as bad news for current Sky Blues number-one Joe Hart, who is more of a traditional goalkeeper and may not fit Guardiola’s new style.
Despite Neuer having three years remaining on his contract, the 29-year-old has opened talks in regards to a massive salary increase of £300,000-a-week, almost double the other Bavarian stars.
If his demands are not met, he may mull over joining City, who are able to meet his wage requirements.
