Man City defender reportedly slower than an OAP

Martin Demichelis was not having a bad game until he saw Lionel Messi running through on goal early in the second half – we all know what happened next.

City fans were worried about the Argentine starting when the teams were announced and their fears came true as Messi was hacked down just inside (or outside) of the area to not only gift his compatriot a penalty but to also leave his team mates with 35 minutes to play with ten men.

Demichelis will of course now be banned for the second leg and that is seemingly the only positive for City after working so hard to keep Barcelona quiet up until then.
