Manchester City will once again be without the services of star man Vincent Kompany for their upcoming clash against Newcastle United, according to Manchester Evening News.
The 29-year-old last featured over two weeks ago when his side were defeated by Serie A champions Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League.
City will be targeting all three points against their upcoming opponents given that they have already lost two consecutive Premier League matches.
Since Kompany’s absence, they fell to a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United and were overrun by a strong Tottenham Hotspur side last week to lose 4-1.
The club captain is also expected to sit out of his two upcoming games for Belgium when they play Andorra and Israel next week.
He is now aiming to get back to full fitness following the international break when City host newly promoted side Bournemouth on October 17.
The Magpies are also looking to build from their recent 2-2 draw with Chelsea despite the fact that they let a 2-0 lead slip.
