Manchester City are looking to beat Manchester United to the signing of West Ham United starlet Reece Oxford, Daily Star reports.
The 17-year-old centre-back has also emerged as a possible transfer target for Chelsea as well as Liverpool, but Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is keen to keep hold of his services.
Despite making only four appearances, he impressed interested parties with a great performance against Arsenal on the opening day of the English top flight.
A host of top clubs are also said to be keen on his signature, but West Ham will not be in a rush to sanction his sale given that he still has 30 months left on his current contract.
Oxford has already been the subject of multiple scouting missions from City as they look to beat their Premier League rivals to his signature.
Apart from his four appearances for the senior team, the defensive ace has already featured in six Under-21 matches for his side this term, so far scoring one goal while providing an assist.
