Manchester City are now favourites to sign Liverpool target Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper recently voiced his concerns over his lack of playing time under manager Luis Enrique, who only uses him in cup competitions.
His frustrations have alerted the two Premier League sides to his potential ability, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp keen to provide current first-choice selection Simon Mignolet with some competition.
However, City have moved ahead of their league rivals as Ter Stegen is believed to be interested in working with incoming manager Pep Guardiola.
He is expected to cost around the £20million region and will most likely battle Joe Hart for a first team place amid speculation that Willy Caballero is set to leave the Etihad this summer.
The Barca keeper has made 20 appearances in all competitions for his side this term, but only managed to feature in four La Liga matches.
