Manchester City are looking to make a £30million bid for Arsenal ace Jack Wilshere as an alternative to Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling, according to reports from the Mirror.
City have been heavily linked with Sterling in recent weeks, launching their second offer worth £40million early Wednesday morning.
However, the Reds look set to reject the bid again, which could force the Citizens to look elsewhere for an English player.
Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere is now being targeted by the Sky Blues, with a £30million proposal expected to be in the works.
But a deal for the 23-year-old could be difficult, with Wilshere previously revealing that he does not want to join City to fill their home-grown player quota.
Wilshere had a roller-coaster few weeks, first being fined £40,000 for his conduct during Arsenal’s FA Cup celebrations before becoming England’s hero with two brilliant goals against Slovenia.
Wilshere was plagued by injuries for much of last season, only featuring in 14 league games for the Gunners, scoring two goals.
