Manchester City star Wilfried Bony has revealed his disappointment at manager Manuel Pellegrini after he was overlooked for the Arsenal match, Express reports.
The 27-year-old only managed to feature for 27 minutes during the 2-1 loss to their opponents as Sergio Aguero was given the nod to start despite only returning from injury.
Bony was expected to start ahead of an unfit Aguero, as the Argentina international failed to make any sort of impact and was taken out a few minutes after the hour mark.
The former Swansea City striker later came out to voice his concerns over his manager’s selection, as he believed that he should have been included in the starting 11.
“I’m disappointed that I didn’t start,” he said.
“I’m not the coach. The coach does what he thinks is best for the team. Everyone on the bench wants to play. He has to choose 11 players. But I think I deserve to be playing.”
He was also on good form after scoring two goals in as many games, with the future of Pellegrini in serious doubt following their latest defeat.
The loss now sees them third on the Premier League table, four behind the Gunners in second and six behind Leicester City in first.
