Manchester City star Samir Nasri has dismissed Chelsea’s Premier League superiority, claiming that they will slip up and allow his side back into the title race, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Nasri has blasted the Blues reliance on Diego Costa this season, and has claimed that their only advantage is their physical strength.
“I’m a big fan of Mourinho, but I am not impressed with his team, not at all,” said Nasri. “We have played Chelsea twice this season, once with 10 men, and were better than them.
“When I have seen some of their games, I don’t think they are that fantastic — they are just strong, and have a good striker up front.
“For me they are not special at all, and I think they are going to make some mistakes. We just have to perform, to win our games, and see what’s going to happen.”
The two clubs have already played each other twice this season, with both results being a 1-1 draw.
But Chelsea are leading City by a seven-point margin after the Blues managed to beat Everton with an 89th minute goal from Willian, cancelling out the Citizens’ 4-1 away victory over Stoke.
The result may be City’s first win of 2015, but they’ve been boosted by the return of Yaya Toure and new signing Wilfried Bony from the African Cup of Nations, with the pair helping Ivory Coast to the title.
The Sky Blues will continue to catch the league leaders when they host Newcastle United at the Etihad on February 21.
