Manchester City star Sergio Aguero is on the verge of signing a new deal to ward away interest from Real Madrid, The Sun reports.
The 27-year-old striker was also linked with a move to Barcelona, but his club are ready to ensure his stay as they look to persuade him to end his career at the Etihad.
A source from the Premier League giants revealed that Aguero is not likely to leave given his relationship with City and is seen as a key member for incoming manager Pep Guardiola heading into the future.
“The club have a fantastic relationship with Sergio and they are confident he’s extremely happy at City,” they said.
“The personal relationships formed between key people at the club and Kun and his family are such that the club are very comfortable that no one can tempt him away.
“He is a vital player for the club and will be key in the future under Pep Guardiola.”
Despite only penning a new contract 18 months ago, the club are already plotting another massive deal to make sure he doesn’t get swayed away with a move back to the La Liga.
The former Atletico Madrid star has been a vital player for his side as he helped them lift the league title back in 2012 and then again in 2014.
He has already featured 26 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far scoring 18 goals while providing another four assists.
