Manchester City have been dealt an injury blow after Raheem Sterling has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a groin problem, Skysports reports.
The 21-year-old was earlier believed to only miss four weeks of football following the knock, but given the seriousness of his injury, he is in doubt to feature any more this season.
With his return set at about eight weeks, the only chance for Sterling to feature for City during the current campaign is if his side make it to the Champions League final on May 28.
The winger will now miss both legs of their crucial European tie against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.
However, teammate Joe Hart, who was earlier expected to also miss the match against PSG, has only been ruled out for about two weeks and could now feature against the Ligue 1 giants.
Sterling has already made 42 appearances in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score 11 goals while providing another 10 assists.
