Manchester United could be forced to compete with Barcelona in their chase to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu, according to reports from Talksport.
The 21-year-old has caught the eye of a host of European giants, with Arsenal and AC Milan also said to be keen on luring him to their respective clubs.
Given his recent form for both his club as well as the Turkey national team, the midfielder is now being dubbed the as ‘the new Mesut Ozil’.
Barca are said to be preparing a January move for Calhanoglu as their transfer embargo will be lifted at the start of next year.
This could mean all the interested Premier League clubs will also have to step up their chase in the winter window in order to prevent the La Liga champions from signing him without any competition.
He has so far featured 13 times in all competitions for his side this term, scoring five goals while providing a further two assists.
