Manchester United have been alerted after Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic hinted that a summer switch to Chelsea could be a possibility, Express reports.
The 20-year-old has attracted huge interest from a host of European giants, with Inter Milan as well as Roma also keen on luring him to their respective sides.
Grujic revealed that he spoke with Blues star Nemanja Matic and was told that manager Jose Mourinho was keeping an eye on him.
“Nemanja Matic is a friend, he’s Serbian and he has been at Chelsea for over a year. He tells me that they want me,” he said.
However, he admitted that he won’t be looking for a move in the upcoming January window as he is keen to help his team with the Serbian SuperLiga.
“Right now I am at Red Star, we are top of the table and I want to win the title here.
“I don’t think that I’ll be moving in January, but there’s definitely more of a chance in June.”
Red Star are in line to pick up the title given that the club are 16 points clear at the top of the table, with Grujic instead hinting of a possible switch in the summer.
United were said to have been scouting the midfielder in the past as the two Premier League giants are likely to trigger a bidding war at the end of the current campaign.
