Manchester United could sign Real Madrid star Raphael Varane after he voiced his concerns over his lack of playing time, The Sun reports.
The 22-year-old has been benched on multiple occasions this season, with manager Zinedine Zidane preferring the centre-back pairing of Sergio Ramos and Pepe.
Varane has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford and has once again fuelled speculation of a move after revealing his intentions to feature on a regular basis.
“I would like to play every game. The coach knows what I want, but it’s up to him to make the decisions,” he said.
“I want to keep improving to go to the next level. We’ll see how my situation develops, but I’m not having any headaches over it anyway”.
With former Real boss Jose Mourinho heavily linked to replace United manager Louis van Gaal in the summer, he could convince the defender to follow him to England.
The France international was a regular feature during his time working under Mourinho, a hint that he could be given a first-team role should he accept a switch to the Premier League.
He only managed to register 18 out of a possible 30 starts for his side this term as they are currently trailing behind Barcelona in first by 10 points.
