Manchester United and Arsenal have been put on alert, with Real Madrid said to be preparing a move for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, Express reports.
The 25-year-old was one of the most sought after players in European football in recent months before finally deciding to commit to a new contract with his current side.
His new deal will keep him at the club up until 2019, also eliminating his previous £25milllion release clause that made him a top target for big clubs.
However, there is speculation that Madrid are preparing to make an initial £25million offer to sign Reus, but are also prepared to increase their bid depending on Dortmund’s answer.
United manager Louis van Gaal was hoping to add the Germany international to his ranks in order to further strengthen the Red Devils ahead of the upcoming season.
The same goes for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is keen on signing Reus to not only challenge for the Premier League title, but to also progress further in the Champions League.
