Manchester United and Arsenal have missed out on the services of Mario Mandzukic after he agreed to the terms of a switch to Juventus, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 29-year-old Atletico Madrid star has been heavily linked with an exit amid speculation that he has fallen out with manager Diego Simeone.
He is now expected to sign a four-year contract with the Serie A winners very soon, ending hopes of a switch to the Premier League ahead of the new campaign.
Beppe Marotta, the club’s general director, is believed to have travelled to Madrid in order to negotiate the terms of the potential transfer.
Mandzukic is seen as a possible replacement for star striker, Carlos Tevez, who has been linked with an exit after rumours that he was interested in a return to boyhood club Boca Juniors.
The Croatia international enjoyed a good campaign on front of goal last term, scoring 20 from a total of 43 appearances for the La Liga side.
