Manchester United and Chelsea could reignite interest in Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger after he revealed that he is not looking to extend his current deal at the moment, Express reports.
The 30-year-old has been playing at the top level for a number of years and his experience in the middle of the park has put him on the cross-hairs of both Premier League giants in the past.
Schweinsteiger said: “I am in no hurry to renew. It’s not something that bothers me because I have a year before it expires.
“The important thing is that my physical problems and injuries are resolved. The rest will follow.”
Although Louis van Gaal has added quite a bit of midfielders into his squad during the summer, he is still looking for a powerhouse that can complete his squad.
As for Jose Mourinho, he is also looking to add some reinforcements into his squad to make sure he can keep a number of his stars well rested heading into the second half of the season.
