Barcelona star Dani Alves, who has been linked with a move Manchester United, Chelsea, as well as Manchester City, has demanded a huge £250,000-a-week salary if he is to accept a move to the Premier League, Daily Star reports.
Despite the Brazilian international able to join one of the many interested clubs on a free transfer, the wage he is asking for is being overlooked as the potential move could be under jeopardy.
Alves revealed earlier that he was not going to extent his contract which expires at the end of this season as he is keen on playing the final years of his career in England.
Wayne Rooney is United’s top earner with a £300,000 -a-week salary, therefore it will very hard for the club to accept the demands of the Barca right back as he will need to accept a pay-cut to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Both City and the Blues have also been linked with player, but with the pair already having a near complete squad, it is also unlikely that they will risk their finances to meet his expectations.
