Hector Herrera is a target for both Liverpool and Manchester United, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The 22 year old was a member of the Mexico squad that won gold at London 2012 and is valued at £10 million.
Herrera’s sporting director at Pachuca, Andres Fassi, told the publication, there had been contact from United, “There is an official interest. We have the document, but there is nothing else to add at this time.”
The midfielder is currently side-lined, recovering from an ankle injury suffered in the Olympic final and could be viewed as an alternative to Lucas Moura who chose Paris Saint-Germain over United.
Fassi added, “We want him to continue in Pachuca. We know he’s going to emigrate to England though. Manchester United and Liverpool have talked to us.”
