Manchester United and Liverpool look to have been dealt a transfer blow after Barcelona are believed to preparing a new contract for Dani Alves, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 31-year-old was expected to leave the Camp Nou when his contract ran out at the end of the season, with a number of Premier League sides already interested in his services.
However, after a number of strong displays from the Brazil international, the right-back may have done enough to earn himself a new deal.
His agent, who spoke on his behalf, revealed that Alves was keen on staying at the Camp Nou, but if he is forced to leave, he will.
“He will give his all while he is here, that’s all I can say.
“We’d like to stay, but we’ll see. I have till May to renew but if he needs to move, he’ll move.”
Despite being linked with an exit ever since the summer, he is still considered a first team regular by Barca manager Luis Enrique, featuring in 20 out of 27 league games so far this season.
