Manchester City and Manchester United are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation of Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti after his side’s recent loss, Express reports.
The European champions were unable to cope against Atletico Madrid and were subsequently defeated 4-0, with their manager now being watched as the club are believed to be considering replacements.
Both Manchester clubs are keeping their options open in regards to their search for a new manager, with Manuel Pellegrini previously tipped to leave while Louis van Gaal is yet to get the best out of his squad.
The City boss was under heavy criticism for his team’s showing in the Champions League group stages, but somehow managed to ensure a late qualification.
Van Gaal has also been struggling during his first season at Old Trafford and despite guiding his team to third in the Premier League, he is yet to prove his worth to the club heirarchy and has already angered some of the fans.
Ancelotti was one of the names on the list of managers the Red Devils were hoping to bring in after the sacking of David Moyes, but the Italian revealed that he was committed to his job in La Liga.
