Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be on high alert after Thiago Motta has asked Paris Saint-Germain to let him leave the club, Express reports.
The 32-year-old midfielder is a regular player for the Ligue 1 side, having already made 22 appearances this season, but is said to be unhappy with his form at the club.
His agent, Alessandro Canovi, stated earlier that Motta is likely to leave PSG, highlighting that fact that his client is a champion and will be a top target for a number of sides.
“Why not? The transfer window is long. We’re talking about a champion. If he is to be sold in June, I say, ‘We’ll see,'” he said.
“If he’s the problem, you resolve the problem by transferring Thiago. A message like that is clear for us. We have received the message.
“Thiago is not just any old player, he’s a champion. So it’s normal other teams look at him. My job is to find a solution to problems, not to create them.”
Louis van Gaal was previously linked with the Italian international during his search for a midfield anchorman capable of helping out his struggling back line.
