Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be clear to sign Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven, after the club revealed they are open to letting him leave in the summer, Goal.com reports.
The 21-year-old was close to a switch to White Hart Lane prior to the start of the new campaign after impressing at the World Cup for the Netherlands national team.
However, Louis van Gaal advised the winger to stay in the Eredivisie, despite the fact that Spurs tabled a £15million offer for his services.
It now looks as though the Dutch manager is ready to cash in on the PSV man as he begins planning for the upcoming transfer window.
PSV’s director, Toon Gerbrands, has revealed that his club were keen on retaining the services of Depay last summer, but he is currently being tipped to depart at the end of the campaign, should any party table an acceptable bid.
“They (Tottenham) were willing to offer £15m. We decided to keep hold of him,” he said.
“But he has the option to leave after this season,”
“I think these players are very attractive to a lot of clubs in Europe. So far, no one has come forward with an offer but I expect we will come under great pressure.”
