Manchester United look to have been boosted in their chase to sign Hakan Calhanoglu after the Bayer Leverkusen star admitted that a switch could happen, Metro reports.
The 21-year-old has constantly been linked with a move to Old Trafford amid speculation that he could be sold by the Bundesliga outfits if a reasonable offer was tabled.
Calhanoglu revealed that if an offer from United or Barcelona was made, he would find it very difficult to reject the chance of completing a move to either clubs.
“Barcelona and Manchester United are huge clubs. It would be difficult to turn them down but I have not said anything about any transfers or anything of the sort,” he said.
The Turkey international is known for his ability to create chances, something that the current United squad look to be missing given their lack of goals so far this term.
He has so far scored three goals while providing another three assists from his previous 15 matches in both the Bundesliga as well as in Europe this season (whoscored.com).
Manager Louis van Gaal saw his team pick up three consecutive goalless draws before captain Wayne Rooney netted in the recent 1-0 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow earlier in this week.
