Manchester United have been boosted by news that Jonny Evans is back in training and has taken part in a reserves match against Blackburn Rovers, Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old centre-back picked up an ankle injury in the 5-3 loss to Leicester City back in September and has not featured since as Louis van Gaal plans yet another defensive combination.
His return will be a huge lift for United as they are lacking experience in the centre-back role after injuries to both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo has forced the club to turn to their academy stars.
Both Tyler Blackett, 20, and Paddy McNair, 19, started against a very attacking Arsenal side and despite coming away with all three points, Van Gaal is keen to add some extra experience to his defence.
Evans has made over 100 appearances for the side and is regarded as the more senior member of the back-line, so if declared fit, he will most likely feature against Hull City this weekend.
