Manchester United have been alerted on the contract situation of Nathaniel Clyne, with the Southampton defender revealing that he is still considering his options, Daily Star reports.
The 23-year-old will play out his contract in 2016, but although negotiations on his new deal is taking place, the right back is not looking to rush anything at the moment.
“We will wait until April. I’m still negotiating my contract with my agent and the club,” Clyne said.
Clyne, along with his Saints’ teammates, have been producing a string of top displays as his side sit third in the Premier League despite being tipped to struggle this season after losing a number of top stars during the summer.
With United already adding Luke Shaw to their ranks at the beginning of the campaign, they are now considering another bid of around £20million to lure the England international to Old Trafford.
Ronald Koeman is unlikely to let him leave as he is the first choice right back in the squad, making 22 appearances out of a possible 24 so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
