Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was reportedly angry at Red Devils ace Angel di Maria for his poor performance against Liverpool on Sunday, according to the Daily Star.
Despite providing the assist for Juan Mata’s second goal against the Reds, Di Maria’s displays were unsatisfactory for Van Gaal, with the Dutchman blasting the winger for constantly losing the ball to the opposition.
This is set to cause more uncertainty surrounding Di Maria’s future, as the Argentine is already heavily linked with an exit even though he just joined in a record-breaking transfer last summer.
The 27-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid for a staggering £59.7million, but has failed to adapt to the Premier League struggling with form and fitness.
His lowest point came in the Red Devils’ FA Cup quarter-final tie against Arsenal, in which Di Maria was sent off for pulling the referee Michael Oliver’s shirt.
Paris Saint-Germain are set to reignite their interest in Di Maria, with the Ligue-1 champions close to signing the former Benfica star prior to his summer move to United.
