Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is worried that his players are getting tired ahead of their clash against Arsenal this weekend, according to reports from the Express.
The Red Devils are currently in a good vein of form, winning five out of their last six games and sit top of the Premier League table.
Their latest fixtures was a 2-1 Champions League victory over Wolfsburg on Wednesday, but after playing their sixth match in the space of just 18 days, Van Gaal has bemoaned the tight schedule and is concerned over the fitness level of his players.
“A lot of players are very tired because of the accumulation of a lot of matches,” Van Gaal said.
“We score but after that it was suffering.”
Van Gaal went on to add that the Gunners will be slightly fresher ahead of their encounter on Sunday, although he believes his squad can still achieve a positive result.
He added: “Arsenal played yesterday – one day more to recover. That will benefit them but we shall manage it.”
United went top for the first time since they won the league back in 2013 following their 3-0 victory over Sunderland last weekend.
