Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal can’t believe the club’s injury problems after Luke Shaw hurt his ankle in their 2-1 triumph over Arsenal, Daily Star reports.
The Red Devils have now accumulated 40 injuries during the course of Van Gaal’s tenure as he waits on the results of scans on Shaw.
“Luke Shaw has an ankle problem,” van Gaal confirmed.
“It is not the same injury as what he had in advance of the game. We have to wait and see. It is unbelievable the injuries we have had.”
Many were critical of Van Gaal starting Shaw against the Gunners, as the 19-year-old was still recovering from another problem.
Yet the former Holland manager was confident he made the right decision, as the ankle injury was not the same issue that cause him to miss United’s previous fixtures.
“I am convinced that I made the right decision,” he said. “This is the life of a manager, the result is always giving you the reason or not [to pick these players].
“I cannot do other things because I don’t have so many players.”
Man United will be hosting Hull City at Old Trafford in this weekend’s Premier League clash.
