Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Javier Hernandez will be given another chance to prove his worth, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old was on the verge of an exit following his return from a season-long loan at Real Madrid, but is now set to stay due to United’s lack of options in attack.
He will now fly to America to linkup with his teammates for their pre-season tour this coming weekend as he begins his fight to retain a regular role in the squad.
Van Gaal has admitted that the departure of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie has opened up room for the Mexico international given that Wayne Rooney and James Wilson are the only remaining strikers.
“Javier can prove himself again and now Falcao and Van Persie are gone, his chances are better,” he said.
