Man United boss not surprised with defender departure

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes it is the right decision for Nemanja Vidic to leave Old Trafford at the end of this season, as reported by BBC Sport.

Vidic stated that this will be his final year with the Red Devils yesterday and as his contract is up, he will leave on a free transfer in the summer.

The Serbian has been a key man for United since he arrived at the club from Spartak Moscow in 2006 playing over 200 times.

Moyes is planning to form his own new-look side at Old Trafford and the defence is a big part of that with the end of an era coming up.

“It was something that we all mutually agreed together. Me, and Nemanja and I think it was the right decision for club and player.

“I think people know that I have things in my mind that I want to do, what I want to change over time. I can’t do it overnight but that wasn’t the reason for this.

“This is a decision which has been mutually decided together. He felt it was the right time for him so we will get on with it and we will move on.”
