Man United boss praises attack following Stoke victory

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has come out to praise his players following their 3-0 win over Stoke City.

The result looks to have relived some pressure off their manager as goals from Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, and Wayne Rooney were enough to secure all three points.

They are still continuing their fight to finish in the top four as they sit fifth on the Premier League table, five points behind fourth place Arsenal.

Van Gaal has come out to admit his delight following the win as his side managed to control the game while managing to finish off their chances.

“It was a great performance,” Van Gaal told Sky Sports.

“In the first half, we created attacks, fantastic goals.

“We created more chances above that. In the second half we controlled the game. We scored the third goal. It was a very good game.

“Maybe we have more confidence [now] – I cannot say [for sure that] now we have more confidence.”

Stoke struggled throughout the game as they had a number of defensive injuries in their backline as the result puts them ninth on the table.

The Red Devils face a tough task this weekend as they travel to Stamford Bridge to play a rejuvenated Chelsea side as the Potters take on Everton this coming Saturday.
