Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is still uncertain where to best deploy record summer signing Angel di Maria in his formation.
The Argentine international made the £59.7million move to Old Trafford in the summer with high expectations, and has impressed whenever available.
However Di Maria has been used in several positions by his manager, with the former Real Madrid star playing in centre-midfield, behind the striker, and on the wings.
Van Gaal needed Di Maria to be flexible with the Red Devils struggling with injuries, but with a fully fit squad the Dutchman is still unsure of the 26-year-old’s best position.
“We still have to find that out,” he told MUTV.
“It is also [about] the composition of the team, we have to look for the best team also because all of the players were injured so I could not select the team that I want.”
Di Maria has been himself struggling with an injury, but after coming on for the last 30 minutes against Aston Villa, will be expected to start against Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
