Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has been approached by representatives from the Chinese Super League over a possible transfer, Mirror reports.
The 30-year-old has emerged as a top candidate to become the face of the league as they believe more top footballers would follow the United captain should he join them.
However, with Rooney still tied down for another three years at Old Trafford, it is unlikely that the striker will leave anytime soon.
The Chinese league recently received £830million from a TV deal as they are now looking to develop the competition in preparation for the future.
They have already seen a number of former Premier League stars join their cause, with former Manchester City star Robinho, former Everton star Tim Cahill, and former Chelsea star Demba Ba all part of the league.
The England international has so far been struggling to find form this term as he has only managed to score two goals from his previous 11 league matches (whoscored.com).
