Manchester United are considering a move to sign Real Madrid star Pepe after missing out on a summer deal for Sergio Ramos, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 32-year-old has now emerged as another possible defensive target as manager Louis van Gaal is yet to complete a deal for a proven centre-back.
However, with Pepe beginning to lose his role to Varane this term, he could be lured away with promise of more regular playing time at Old Trafford.
It is known that the Red Devils are in desperate need of another centre-back given that versatile midfielder Daley Blind has been occupying the role since the start of the season.
Pepe has only featured three times of out a possible eight league matches so far this term and is believed to cost around the £15million region.
