Manchester United are considering an approach for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to The Mirror.
The Red Devils have toiled this term, with Louis van Gaal’s position a source of contention after the historic club were eliminated from the Champions League and dropped out of the top four recently.
The experienced Dutchman has a contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2017 but talk in the press suggests that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss could well retire this summer.
Pochettino has revitalised Tottenham’s hopes since moving to White Hart Lane from Southampton in 2014, with Spurs a more menacing proposition with the Argentine at the helm.
The former Saints boss has led the North London club into the top four this season and his football intelligence has been lauded as a key reason for the White Hart Lane outfit’s improved performances.
United are being linked with a summer move for Pochettino and are said to have been long-term admirers of the retired defender.
