Man United consider shock move to sign Liverpool target

Manchester United are being linked with a shock move to sign Liverpool target Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona, according to Calciomercato, as reported by the Metro.

The 23-year-old has constantly been linked with a switch to Anfield ahead of the January window given the decline in form of Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Mignolet is being criticised after making a number of unnecessary errors over the past few matches, with the fans now urging for him to be replaced.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp recently came out to play down speculation that he was looking to sign the Barca star to reinforce his ranks.

United are now believed to be keeping their options open in regards to the future of  David De Gea as Real Madrid look to have reignited interest in his services.

Ter Stegen has so far featured in six Champions League matches this term, but has seen very limited playing time in La Liga, registering only four appearances.
