Manchester United offered Monaco defender Marcos Rojo as part of the deal that brought Anthony Martial to Old Trafford, according to The Daily Star.
The Argentina international was reportedly available for transfer over the summer after frustrating Louis van Gaal with his slow return to pre-season training after participation in the Copa America.
However, the report suggests that Rojo has rebuilt his bridges with the outspoken Dutch coach and as a result has salvaged his Old Trafford career.
The former Sporting Lisbon man is yet to fully convince the United fans of his merits, with his first season in English football full of inconsistency.
The South American has started the new season as a back-up option for the Red Devils, but Luke Shaw’s injury should mean increased time on the pitch for the versatile enforcer.
After the England international’s injure against PSV Eindhoven, Rojo has brought on at centre-half and Daley Blind was shifted to left-back.
