Manchester United will once again be without Marcos Rojo who picked up an injury on Saturday during a training session ahead of the Liverpool match, Daily Mail reports.
The 24-year-old only recently recovered from a dislocated shoulder and could once again be sidelined with Louis van Gaal admitting that he still cannot set an appropriate return date.
He said, regarding the knock: “I don’t think it’s healthy but I’m not a doctor.”
With the long list of unavailable defenders, Van Gaal had to call on Phil Jones, who was not fully fit after he also only returned from a spell on the sidelines.
Rafael, Luke Shaw, and Chris Smalling were out of the clash against Brendan Rodgers’ men as United fielded a three-man back line consisting of Jonny Evans, Michael Carrick, and Jones.
Despite that, Carrick was praised for his defensive contributions and seemed to excel in his new role as a centre-back despite usually being deployed in central midfield.
