Manchester United star Marcos Rojo is believed to be on the verge of opening talks with Napoli over a potential January switch, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 25-year-old completed his £16million move to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014, but is said to have been given the green light to leave.
He was even close to joining Monaco in the recent transfer window as part of the deal which saw United spend £36million on the signing of Anthony Martial from the Ligue 1 side.
However, his agent, Jorge Mendes, eventually urged the club to keep hold of his services despite links of a recent departure.
He angered managed Louis van Gaal during the preseason when he was forced to sit out of their tour of America after he forgot to renew his passport.
Rojo struggled to hold down a regular role since the start of the campaign, but has been featuring lately due to the long-term injury to Luke Shaw.
