Manchester United are in pole position to sign Lazio star Lucas Biglia as the club look to reinforce their ranks this summer, Corriere dello Sport reports.
The 30-year-old has been one of the Rome giants’ key men for some time, but is yet to decide on his future after putting contract talks on hold.
He still has two years left on his current deal, but it’s claimed that the Italian outfit are ready to cash in on him during the upcoming window.
Biglia could be a short-term replacement for Michael Carrick, but United may need to table an offer around the £20m region to acquire his signature.
Carrick will see his contract expire at the end of the current campaign, and his future is still in doubt with no agreement in place as of yet.
The Lazio midfielder has been in good form this term, featuring 32 times in all competitions for his side, scoring five goals while providing another six assists.
