Man United enter negotiations to sign Arsenal strike target in January

Manchester United have stepped up their chase to sign Arsenal target Nishan Burkhart from FC Zurich during the January window, Daily Mail reports.

The 15-year-old will turn 16 this coming January as a number of sides including Chelsea and Southampton are also believed to be keen on his services.

United are said to have open talks with the Swiss striker over a possible switch to England as they continue to reinforce their squad for the future.

Burkhart has also been compared to Gunners star Theo Walcott as competition for his signature is likely to heat up ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The Red Devils have struggled over the past few weeks, getting knocked out of the Champions League with a lost to Wolfsburg before suffering a defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend.

Despite struggling to pick up convincing results this season, United currently find themselves fourth on the Premier League table, four points away from Arsenal in first.
