Man United eye Champions League boss to replace Van Gaal

Manchester United are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc if they opt to end Louis van Gaal’s time at the club, according to The Daily Star.

The Old Trafford outfit have had a less-than convincing campaign to date, with a battle to finish in the top four being compounded by a defeat to rivals Liverpool in the Europa League in midweek.

The experienced Dutchman is under contract with the Red Devils until next summer, but there has been a lot of speculation in the press that United could call it quits with the former Barcelona tactician at the end of the current season.

Blanc has overseen PSG’s rise to become a European superpower, with the Frenchman spearheading the capital city side’s rise to domestic dominance.

The retired defender knows United well having played at Old Trafford as a player and could well be tempted with a return to the club.

PSG eliminated Chelsea from the Champions League in midweek, with Blanc hoping to add a major European crown to his burgeoning list of successes as a manager.
