Manchester United are monitoring the situation of Sergio Busquets after speculation that his contract talks with Barcelona has come to a halt, Fichajes reports.
The 27-year-old is said to be demanding an increase in his wages, a move that would see him be paid similar to that of Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez.
He is still tied down on a contract until 2019, but talks have come to a halt after Barca decided to put negotiations over his new deal on hold.
United have been linked with his services during the previous summer window and is expected to step up their chase at the end of the current campaign.
The Red Devils, along with rivals Manchester City and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are believed to have already tabled an offer to lure the midfielder to their respective sides.
Busquets has featured 44 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to provide six assists in the process.
