Manchester United are not alone in the race to sign AC Milan’s Nigel de Jong after speculation that Juventus are also keen on his services, Express reports.
The 30-year-old has been a target for Louis van Gaal ever since he was appointed manager of United following the sacking of David Moyes.
De Jong is now being tipped for a Milan exit as the Turin giants are considering a move for the Dutch star, who is now being given an alternative route to remain in the Serie A this summer.
He spent three years with Manchester City before his move to Milan, meaning he will already be familiar with the tempo of the English game.
It is believed that Juventus are preparing to reinforce their midfield should France international Paul Pogba leave at the end of the current campaign.
